"DIABETIC FRIENDLY SCHOOL"

Our newest campaign was launched on May 27th, 2009  The pilot run was a huge success! We screened close to 600 K through 3rd grade students for Diabetes and we also took their height and weight measurements to be used in our study.  The day was completed with interactive presentation for kids and teachers during which they all learned what Diabetes is and why their blood was tested. Students also obtained general information about healthy eating habbits and learned that poor diet may lead to the onset of Type 2 Diabetes. Six faculty members were selected to complete free diabetic education course especially tailrored for teachers and coaches founded by PJDF

FINAL DATES May 8 or 15 , 2010 TO BE ANNOUNCED   We are working on a wonderful event that will bring togherher kids, horses and awareness about Juvenile Diabetes in Poland. Warsaw Eagles Joined US FOR two games to show their SUPPORT for  LISA AND HER QUEST TO BETTER THE LIVES OF CHILDREN IN POLAND WHO BATTLE JUVENILE DIABETES. On SUNDAY MAY 17TH & MAY 27TH 2009 W.E raised over 4300 pln for PJDF

We Are Working on a "Young Diabetic's Manual" to complement post diagnosis training for all the new pediatric patients.

The manual is a collaborated work between our founder Monika Chrzanowski and Pediatric Endocrinology Specialist Dr. Ewa Pankowska and it is illustrated by Aleksandra Dziedzic, a very talented computer graphic artist. The manual will hold all the necessary medical information and practical advise for all living with Diabetes Type I Mellitus. We are very proud of this undertaking and we hope it will truly revolutionize the way disease specific information is presented to a young patient and their parents.
